The Jim Henson Company has been all about their Dark Crystal contests lately. First they held a t-shirt design contest, and then a contest for writers who want to pen the next great American Dark Crystal novel (the winners of which were recently announced), and now they’re calling for puppet builders and sculptors to create their own characters that would fit in the world of the Dark Crystal.
Aspiring creature-builders are being asked to create their own puppets, sculptures, or maquettes (nothing in just two dimensions, so no sketches or paintings) and send in their photos for a chance to win a trip to New York City for a screening of The Dark Crystal and to meet Brian and Wendy Froud, Cheryl Henson, and the winner of the Author Quest contest.
I imagine that the contestants from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge will be ineligible to enter.
