Usually we post about the Emmy Awards once a year, listing out all the nominations earned by Sesame Street. But that’s for the Daytime Emmys, not the super-exciting, press-receiving Primetime Emmy Awards. Because Sesame Street is on during the day, you dig? But now Big Bird will be representing his daytime crew with his own Primetime Emmy nod, along with Billy Eichner and First Lady Michelle Obama.
“Billy On The Street With First Lady Michelle Obama, Big Bird And Elena!!!” got a nomination for Best Short-Form Live-Action Entertainment Program. They’re up against Zach Galifianakis (aka Hobo Joe), Children’s Hospital, Key & Peele, and (didn’t quite make it to Sesame Street) Katy Perry.
