At 11:35 PM/10:35 Central on Christmas Eve, CBS will air a new special called A NEW YORK CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER at St. Paul the Apostle. As the title suggests, the special will take place at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City, and it will feature puppets conceived by the late Jane Henson and built by the Creature Shop. The puppets will dramatize the story of the first Christmas as Regis Philbin reads the relevant Bible passages. Mrs. Henson’s puppets have been performing the Nativity story in various venues since 2008, but this will be the first time the work has been seen on television.

The special will also include performances by Heather Henson (who helped fund the puppet Nativity along with her sister Cheryl), The Fordham University Choir, The National Children’s Chorus and the St. Paul The Apostle Choir. It’s going to be a really lovely show, and the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve night before visions of sugarplums start dancing in your head.

You can also like the show’s official page on Facebook for behind-the-scenes photos and video.
