A new promo for The Muppets just popped up online, and it’s exciting because it’s actual footage from the show!!! Not just faux-impromptu chats with ABC stars or clips from the pilot presentation. Real stuff!
Some highlights:
- Celebrities name-dropped include Liam Hemsworth, Josh Groban, Lea Thompson, Imagine Dragons, Tom Bergeron, Laurence Fishburne, and Elizabeth Banks.
- Elizabeth Banks sure does take a beating. First Kermit doesn’t consider her a big celebrity (in the pilot presentation) and now Piggy wants her off the show. Poor kid. I hope she makes it in show business despite all this.
- Oh that Tom Bergeron. He must be on the Muppets’ speed dial.
- Full-bodied Fozzie Bear! That always reminds me of his scene at the El Sleezo in The Muppet Movie.
- Was that Dancing With the Stars shout-out really necessary, ABC?
