MakerBot, the company that delighted us with 3-D printable figures of Sesame Street characters like Frazzle and Guy Smiley, has announced the release of another wave of figures, and this time they’re ready for Christmas. The Sesame Street Classics Collection can be purchased at the MakerBot Digital Store, and it includes Elmo, Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, and Oscar. As seen above, this collection comes with Christmas-themed accessories for each figure, which makes them the perfect stocking-stuffer… if you have a 3-D printer.
Do you have a 3-D printer? I sure don’t. Nor do I know anyone who owns one. But these things sure are cool, and just like the previous sets, they have that funky, stylized look that makes them fun just to look at. So maybe it’s time to buy a 3-D printer! Or, maybe it’s worth a trip to one of MakerBot’s retail stores, in New York, Boston or Greenwich, Connecticut. If you don’t live anywhere near those places, you should sit down and calculate the cost of a plane ticket vs. the cost of a 3-D printer. I’m confident you’ll make the right choice.
