We have an answer to the question everyone’s been asking, all over the world: Who is that purple bird in the promotional images for the new Muppet Babies?
Her name is Summer, and she is a penguin. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Summer is the result of lots of brainstorming to create a new female character for the series. (Apparently the brainstorming process also involved the creation, then rejection, of that sheep character who appeared in the earliest materials for the show.) Executive producer Tom Warburton describes her as “super creative. She loves to draw, she loves to paint, she loves to dance—all at the same time. She’s the smallest of the group, but she definitely has the biggest heart.” And she’s voiced by Jessica DiCicco, whose credits include The Loud House, Gravity Falls, and Adventure Time.
