It’s been over a year since Steve Whitmire casually mentioned at Disney’s D23 convention that the Muppet people had made some new Pigs in Space videos to be released online, and we’ve been waiting to see them ever since. The occasion of a new Muppet TV show seemed like the perfect time to unleash them, but it didn’t happen then. Then we thought maybe they were waiting for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, or even Star Trek Beyond, but the internet was still strikingly free of new Pigs in Space videos.
But here’s something the Muppets tweeted today:

Hey… Friday, 12/9? Why, that’s this Friday! That’s only two days from now! Apparently all this time they were waiting to time it around the release of Rogue One. Or possibly Office Christmas Party.
So this Friday, watch the skies — or your internet device of choice — for signs of the Swinetrek. And get ready for every pop culture website to post articles with the first line “Piiiiigs ooooonliiiiine!”
