As a fan of fan artists, I really, really love it when someone finds a unique take on a character that we’ve seen portrayed the same way over and over again. The Muppets are especially fun to reinterpret, as they boil down to their essence really easily while still being recognizable.
Artist Piper Thibodeau has been creating this type of slightly askew artwork for the last few years in her series of daily paintings (all of which you can view here), which she’s been keeping up for over 900 days. Naturally, the Muppets are bound to make a few appearances after that many daily sketches.
Below, you’ll find some truly amazing and gorgeous illustrations from Piper Thibodeau, including a truly monstrous Cookie Monster, a tea drinking worm, and a banjo picking frog.
