The long-awaited sequel to The Dark Crystal continues in comic book form with the second issue, leaving just ten more months until we’re left with a little bit of closure and probably 30 or 40 more years until the next sequel. I imagine that the third installment will take place in outer space, letting the Gelflings meet strange alien creatures and save the planet Thra from asteroids and planet eaters and gaseous clouds voiced by Laurence Fishburne.
But I digress. Issue #2, written by Simon Spurrier with art by Kelly and Nichole Matthews, is in stores this Wednesday, April 19th. According to the synopsis: “While Thurma’s arrival creates chaos at the Crystal Castle, Aughra tries to get a glimpse of what the future may hold for the fireling and Kensho, and discovers a familiar darkness on the horizon: Skeksis!” Sounds spooky!
