Puppetpalooza is a four-day puppetry festival happening in Santa Barbara from March 1st to March 4th.  And what would a Puppetpalooza be without the most famous puppets of all, the Muppetpaloozas?  I mean, the Muppets.

The Muppets will be appearing at the festival on the second day, March 2nd at 7pm in an event aptly titled “The Muppets Take Santa Barbara“.  The website calls out Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf, and Walter, which means that the Muppet performers involved will be Matt Vogel, Eric Jacobson, Bill Barretta, and Peter Linz. (With Muppets Studio’s Debbie McClellan moderating.)

We are promised an evening of storytelling, interviews, rare footage, music, and “improvised mayhem”.

Tickets for this event will cost you $50 (or $35 if you’re a kid), and there will be a VIP meet-and-greet afterward.  VIP tickets aren’t available yet, but join the Puppetpalooza mailing list (link at the bottom of their website) to be among the first to be notified.

Other puppeteer celebrities at the event will include Phillip Huber (Being John Malkovich) and Tarish “Jeghetto” Pipkins (Missy Elliott and Pharrell music video “WTF”).

For more information, including a list of events and how to get tickets, visit the Puppetpalooza website.
