It takes a long time to get a movie made, even when a bankable star like Cookie Monster is involved.
You know how we’ve been hearing for a few years now that there’s a new Sesame Street movie in development? I believe the most recent announcement was back in 2015 when it moved from Fox to Warner Bros., and director Shawn Levy — recently renowned for his work on Netflix’s Stranger Things — became attached.
Today, ScreenRant quoted Levy as stating that the movie is still in development, still at the pre-screenplay treatment phase, and all involved are “very bullish” on it. I think that’s a good thing.
And there you have it! The Sesame Street movie is still in the works, Shawn Levy is still working on it, and there’s nothing else to report. Make sure you come back here in July 2018 to read the same news again!
