Up Late with Miss Piggy with a bicycle

It’s the same question we’ve pondered while waiting for the last two Muppet movies to be released: How much advance knowledge is too much?  We already know the name of Miss Piggy’s talk show and the roles all the Muppets play on the staff.  We know who will be guest-starring.  What if you could know the titles and plot summaries of the first two episodes?  Would you go for it?

If you would, keep reading.  If not, stop reading.

Are you still here?  Okay.  BroadwayWorld.com, of all places, has the scoop.  Here are the details:

“Pig Girls Don’t Cry (Pilot)” – Miss Piggy is furious that Kermit booked Elizabeth Banks as a guest on her late night talk show Up Late with Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear meets his girlfriend’s parents, and Grammy Award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons performs their new single “Roots,” on the season premiere of “The Muppets,” TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 22 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest starring in “Pig Girls Don’t Cry (Pilot)” is Elizabeth Banks as herself, Tom Bergeron as himself, Tracy Anderson as herself, Imagine Dragons, Meagan Fay as Holly, Jere Burns as Carl, Riki Lindhome as Becky, Nilla Watkins as Kim and Layla Alizada as Betty.

“Pig Girls Don’t Cry (Pilot)” was written by Bill Prady & Bob Kushell and directed by Randall Einhorn.

“Hostile Makeover” – In an attempt to make Miss Piggy happy, Kermit sets her up with Josh Groban who fills her head with ideas on how to make Up Late with Miss Piggy better. Meanwhile, Fozzie is invited to a party at Jay Leno’s house and everyone is annoyed that Bobo is selling cookies for his daughter’s troop, on “The Muppets” TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest starring in “Hostile Makeover” is Josh Groban, Laurence Fishburne, Jay Leno, Lea Thompson and Reza Aslan.

“Hostile Makeover” was written by Bill Prady & Bob Kushell and directed by Randall Einhorn.

As always, we’re full of questions and exclamations, including:

-Bobo has a daughter?!  Man, I hope they get Cindy Crawford to guest star later as his wife.

-Riki Lindhome is half of the comedy music duo Garfunkel & Oates, who have a TV show of their own.  Could her character Becky be Fozzie’s new girlfriend?

-So Kermit’s setting up his ex-girlfriend with a celebrity guest.  What a strange dynamic those two continue to have.

-Jay Leno, eh?
