Up Late with ToughPigs has learned that Miss Piggy is set to donate her original lavender satin gloves to the Smithsonian’s Museum of American History sometime in the near future.

According to Director of Acquisitions – Late Night Television, Dr. Jonathan Hagcot, “Miss Piggy’s work has been groundbreaking, not only as one of the first women to host a late-night talk show, but as the first pig host. We are grateful that the gloves Miss Piggy wore on the road to stardom will take their place in the home of America’s treasures alongside iconic gloves belonging to other American icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali.”

Miss Piggy also gave a statement, saying “Moi am pleased to know that my old gloves will find a new home with items from other, almost-exactly-but-not-entirely talented individuals. And I’m definitely not donating them just because I need the closet space.” The donation was facilitated by Miss Piggy’s personal wardrobe supervisor who reported to the press, “It was time for them to go to a better place. How can she get into the gorgeous new spring collection from Uncle By Deadly if she doesn’t get rid of the passé stuff? Lavender gloves are so pedestrian.”

There’s no word yet as to when the gloves will go on display, but keep reading Up Late with ToughPigs for updates.
