Some of you out there may have noticed that there are some small connections between Up Late with Miss Piggy and the old Muppet Show. Sure, the fabulous Miss Piggy stars in both series, but did you also know that Up Late‘s Executive Producer is also the former Muppet Show emcee who ALSO happens to be her ex-boyfriend??? That’s just one of the many connections between the two shows!
You’re probably thinking, “Say, now that you mention it, y’know, like, what if… um… the other guys are doing stuff too? Or something?” The answer is: Yes!
A lot of the old Muppet gang made the transition from The Muppet Show or other early Muppet productions to Up Late with Miss Piggy. Let’s look at some of the forgotten characters and see where they are today.
That lovable brute who got his start in The Frog Price, danced in the opening to The Muppet Show, and lifted a Volkswagen with his bare hands is now a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Bunsen and Beaker
Those kooky science bros are now utilizing their science bro skillz as stagehands on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Where once he made things explode due to his destructive and possibly murderous behavior, he now uses his abilities for the power of good as a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Everyone’s second-favorite Muppet bear has upgraded from the Muppets Tonight security desk and pseudo-villain henchman to become a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Sometimes, you throw a fish away and it comes back to you. But what happens when you throw a fish-thrower away? He comes back as a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Do you miss the old Muppet Show janitor? Don’t worry, he’s still kicking up some dust as a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
Who? Oh yeah, that guy. Wasn’t he in Muppets Wizard of Oz or something? Probably. Well, if anyone cares, now he’s working as a stagehand on Up Late with Miss Piggy!
We honestly have no idea where Walter is.
