Piggy Water® Faces Ban in Denmark

We have some bad news for Danish Miss Piggy fans (that’s fans of Miss Piggy that live in Denmark, not fans of Miss Piggy’s line of fruit-filled pastries).

Up Late with ToughPigs has received a report that the Danish Food and Beverage Safety Board (aka the Danske Mad og Drikkevarer Sikkerhed Udvalg, or DMODSU) has filed for a ban on all imports of Piggy Water® due to its “questionable health content.”

According to board director Juliet Aprilsnar, “This is clearly not water. Water should not have 110 calories. Clearly, Miss Piggy has little regard for truth in advertising.” Miss Piggy immediately fired back, saying, “While moi loves her Danish fans, the Danish people, and danishes in general, I regret to announce that the nation of Denmark is officially ON MY LIST!”

Reportedly, Denmark is now somewhere between Reese Witherspoon and Hillshire Farms on Piggy’s list, which doesn’t look good. There’s no word yet as to whether or not this will impact previously announced plans for a Lego version of the Up Late set, though we at Up Late with ToughPigs have our fingers crossed for a quick, amicable, and potable resolution.
