Uh huh. Exactly my point. Just like that fairy tale.

Clifford

Actually, it was more of an allegory.

Vicki

I think we should vote.

Leon

Hey — how many people think voting is a dumb idea?

[ Link, Clifford, Lindy and Bean put up their hands. ]

Link

Me…

  [ Gonzo walks by. ]

Vicki

Gonzo!

Leon

Where are you going?

Gonzo

Oh. Nothing personal, guys, but… I miss Kermit. So, uh… So long.

[ They watch him go. ]

Bean

Hey — wait for me!

[ Bean takes off after Gonzo. After a moment, everyone else follows, leaving Leon behind. He takes a second to enjoy being in charge… then follows after the rest of them. ]

Leon

GUYS!

[ Gonzo arrives at the vacation spot. ]

Kermit

Gonzo!

Gonzo

Hi!

Kermit

Vicki

Vicki

Hi!

Kermit

Hey, why aren’t you guys running the show?

Gonzo

Oh… well… we left. Mind if we hang out with you?

Kermit

Oh, look! You’re all here!

Leon

We all left!

Bean

I skedaddled. It’s cuter!

Kermit

Oh, this is fantastic! Hey, but how’d the show turn out? Did you do a good closing number?

[ Everyone looks away. ]

Gonzo

Uhhh… well, actually… we never got to the closing number.

Kermit

What!?

Vicki

Well, to be honest with you, sir… we couldn’t figure out how to run the show.

Kermit

Oh, running the show is easy! Watch. Cue the closing number!

Gang

Whoa! Oh…

Vicki

[ sigh ] … He makes it seem so easy.

[ The Solid Foam band take their places for the closing number. ]

Kermit

Even when I’m weary, and I just can’t carry on

And the world is like an endless debt for me to pay

Even when the neon seems to shine more than the sun

And the secret place I live in feels so far away
