Performers are gathering in New York City and there’s a vague scent of herb stuffing in the air, so it must be time for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! And for the forty-ninth time, Sesame Street will be making its way down 6th Avenue as part of the festivities. This year, an old friend will be taking the ride on the 1-2-3 Sesame Street float: Emmy and Grammy Award-winning actor, songwriter, and musician Christopher Jackson!

This marks Jackson’s second appearance on the Thanksgiving float. He previously appeared with the gang in 2016 when they performed “Try a Little Kindness.” They even made a music video of the recording session, which you can see below!

Of course, the relationship with Jackson and Sesame runs deep. While the world at large may know him best for his roles in the Broadway productions of In the Heights and Hamilton, Muppet fans will know him as the composer of contemporary Sesame hits like “I Love My Hair” and “What I Am.” Remember that Emmy Award that I mentioned earlier? He won it for his work on Sesame Street!

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off at 8:30 AM Eastern on Thursday, November 27. You can watch the official telecast on NBC and Peacock.
