In recent years, Sesame Workshop has collaborated on some advertisements that have felt, to be polite, out of place with what Sesame Street has stood for. But at long last, they found the perfect company to work with… for one character.
That’s right, after 56 years, Oscar the Grouch has finally done a trash bag commercial.
Sesame Street’s resident curmudgeon has partnered with Glad on an ad that features a new version of “I Love Trash,” all centered around how Glad’s bags make dealing with garbage a breeze. Suffice it to say, Oscar isn’t too happy about that. (But then again, he isn’t too happy about most things.)
Previously, Glad produced a line of Sesame-themed paper plates and cups, as well as storage containers, in 2022. So far, there’s been no comment on the ad by Bruno the Trashman.
