Classic Sesame Street Episodes to Stream on Tubi

It was announced today that 250 classic episodes from the first 38 seasons of Sesame Street will be joining the ever-growing streaming network Tubi.

Tubi, best known for its model offering free access to films and TV shows, is the latest streamer to gain access to Sesame Street content, after recent deals with Netflix and YouTube.

Of course, Tubi’s model thrives thanks to paid advertisers, and it’s not yet known if these episodes will feature ads. If so, it’s an extremely rare case of Sesame Street with commercial breaks.

Among the episodes that will be featured on Tubi will be the premiere episode form 1969, Maria and Luis’s wedding, the “Big Bird goes to Hawaii” 5-episode arc, and visits from Star Wars icons R2-D2 and C-3PO. 10% of the overall episodes will rotate in and out over the next few months.

The most exciting part of this announcement is the continued effort to provide Sesame Street to viewers at zero cost. That’s an important part of the show’s history, and accessibility of educational content for young viewers is more paramount than ever.

The classic Sesame Street episodes will premiere on Tubi on April 1st.
