Halloween Parades
2002 – 2003 – 2004 – 2005 – 2007 – 2008 – 2009 – 2009.1 – 2010 – 2011 – 2012 – 2013
2014 – 2015 â€“ 2016 – 2017 – 2018 – 2019 – 2020 – 2021 – 2022 – 2023 – 2024 – 2025

It’s Halloween! Time for tricks and treats and candy and scary movies and more candy and did we mention candy? And of course, lots and lots of fun costumes. And if there are costumes, there’s bound to be more than a few clever and creative folks who cosplay as Muppets.

Almost every year since 2002, ToughPigs has been scouring the internet for some of our favorite Muppet costumes from the past year and sharing them with you fine folks. And year after year, we continue to be blown away at these costumes – we really can’t get enough of them!

If you’ve got a great Muppet costume, or if you see any exceptional ones floating around the internet, be sure to email them to us! We’ll include them in next year’s Halloween Parade – it’s never too early to prep for Halloween!

Thanks to everyone who sent us their costumes! We hope you all enjoy them as much as we did!

Kicking things off with some of our favorite Muppet Show characters. These folks are proof that you can go as simple as a green t-shirt or as complex as a prosthetic nose to achieve the perfect Muppet cosplay.

You know I love a good Bunsen and Beaker duo, but wow, look at that Rizzo! If I saw him scurrying around the subway trying to steal a pizza crust, I think I’d just give him the whole pie.

This may look like your run-of-the-mill Swedish Chef (and chicken!) cosplay, but that’s my buddy Chris – an actual Swede from Sweden! Who says you can’t embrace a stereotype once in a while??

Puppeteer, puppet builder, artist, friend of ToughPigs, and Muppet fanatic Noah Ginex put together this furry, funny, and fabulous Fozzie Bear costume. Complete with feet!

Sound off: If YOU were going to dress as Gonzo, would you wear a chili pepper shirt or nah?

You love to see a good Jim Henson cosplay, but extra Halloween bonus points for giving this Kermit vampire fangs, straight from the Vincent Price episode of The Muppet Show.

It’s a little hard to see this one (I truly couldn’t find anything larger), but under that Waldorf mask is Godtfried Kirk Christianson, son of the founder of LEGO and credited with patenting the LEGO brick. As random as all this is, the strangest part is seeing a Waldorf without a Statler.

It’s Lew Zealand and…

…another Lew Zealand! This one from a burlesque act by Pixie Danger. Every time we think we’re done with him, he just comes back to us. (Not that we’re complaining.)

Is there anything groovier, jazzier, or funkier than dressing as members of the Electric Mayhem?? I love seeing all these Drs. Teeth, Zoots, Janices, and even the puppy Animal. But where’s Floyd?? Where’s Lips?? Where’s Dolores the Trumpet Lady?? Where are my pants???

Lucas Ross, ever the trash goblin, makes for a great Oscar the Grouch.

Statler and Waldorf: A Love Story.

Here’s our friend Melissa, seen running in a Disney race as Miss Piggy in her Muppets Take Manhattan waitress uniform. I guess she took up jogging after chasing down that Central Park purse thief!

Requirements for a perfect Mokey Fraggle costume: Blue wig, beaded necklace, cardigan, inner peace.

ToughPigs reader Bert Goldsnider sent us this one, and I’m honestly digging the chain-secured garbage can skirt. I’d wear it, even if it’s not Halloween.

ToughPigs reader Mark Moylan shared his epic family group costume with us. You know what they say: The family that gets Muppetized together stays together.

This little rascal isn’t just an Elmo enthusiast, but ToughPigs’ own Ryan Roe’s nephew! He’s teaching that kid right!!

The pigeons in New York City are really getting out of control.

Y’all, you know I love to see a Sweetums costume. And how lucky am I, we found two of them this year! Heck yeah, you monsters rule.

And my favorite costume of the year goes to this fine fellow, CroakPad on Reddit. A Kermit/Frankenstein mashup would be epic enough, but this is the Ker-monster, Kermit’s alter ego from the infamous Muppet Monster Adventure video game for the PlayStation. The obscurity is very well appreciated.

And that’s the end of another riveting (and ribbeting) Halloween Parade! Thanks again to all of our cosplayers, and once again, if you’re dressing as a Muppet (or happen to see any while you’re out trick or treating), be sure to email them to us for next year’s Parade!
