Alright, it’s been a few weeks now since Muppet*Vision 3D went bye-bye, and while it’s sad and disappointing and all those other things, maybe now it’s a time we start to look forward. In 2026, The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. It’s a high speed coaster currently themed around Aerosmith, a band your father liked when he was 17. Seen here is frontman Steven Tyler looking like your cool aunt who’d let you smoke in the house.

The ride is a lot of fun, I did it at Disneyland Paris many moons ago. It’s all upside downy and crazy while rock music plays through the coaster’s speakers, and when I heard that The Muppets were taking over, I immediately watched a ride through video to remind myself of what it’s like. This video, in fact, which shows the ride with the lights on (it’s usually dark)
My mind started to race. So much of the ride is made by the music that plays as you whiz around the room. Currently there are multiple tracks that could play, meaning you’re not guaranteed the same song every time. So, what kind of songs could the Muppet version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster have? Well, it’s likely going to be performed by the Electric Mayhem, but maybe not all the tracks. Let’s go through some options:
MAYHEM!
MAYHEM! Is a song that, for some reason, was never sung on the actual series ‘The Muppets Mayhem’, but instead could be heard instrumentally. The full version was available on the soundtrack, and instantly became one of my favorites. For me, this is the song that played in my head the first time I watched the ride through video. That opening sting fits perfectly with the fast launch, ending right as the first turn happens. In fact, the entire first verse, chorus, and second verse fit exactly from the launch to the brake. That rich sound of every instrument at once, that’s what a rock and roll coaster needs. Do it, Disney! Make the ride MAYHEM!
Can You Picture That?
If one of the tracks isn’t ‘Can You Picture That?’, I will send the first person to mention this bet $10. This is such a staple of The Electric Mayhem, that it would almost be a crime if this song WASN’T one of the available tracks. As much as I’d love them to use the original version from The Muppet Movie (how great would it be to hear Jim, Jerry, Richard and Frank on a new ride?), the truth is they’d probably use the new version with the current performers, and that’s perfectly good too.
“Alright, Jarrod”, I hear you say. “Sure, the Electric Mayhem are great, but what about some tracks that aren’t by them?”. I get you, it shouldn’t all be Dr. Teeth and Floyd and whatever the drummer guy’s name is. Let’s get some other Muppet’s songs in there too!
Jamboree
Let’s give Gonzo a little time in the spotlight and have him sing about his weird little life! The rethemed coaster in Disneyland Paris (themed to The Avengers) have screens up that show Iron Man and Captain Marvel blowing stuff up as the coaster goes by. Playing Jamboree and watching the ride through video, you’d be surprised how well it all lines up with chances to put screens on that show ducks waving flags and cows with banana horns. They could have brand new filmed moments that play on these screens whenever Jamboree is the selected track. Plus, you could get Dave Goelz to re-record it, AND you get a bonus Frank Oz inclusion because he wrote the song! It’s perfect!
Never Before, Never Again
Right, I’ll be honest, this song is more a comedy-of-contrast joke. The sweet romantic tones of Miss Piggy singing her love song to Kermit, matched with a high powered roller coaster, it could work. In fact, like all the songs on this list, it oddly does? Don’t get me wrong, it’d need a slight re-edit, but man, if you pull your Spotify up and press play at the exact moment, tell me those first 10 seconds aren’t kind of perfect? As with Jamboree, it’s the chance for some screens showing some fun silly moments as Miss Piggy falls for the frog, similar to how the montage in The Muppet Movie works during the song.
Rainbow Connection
It’s gonna be Rainbow Connection again, isn’t it? They’ll find a way to make it Rainbow Connection again.
The Entire Audio of Muppet*Vision 3D Sped Up To 70 seconds
I get it, it’s super sad Muppet*Vision went away. But what if we could get it back? What if, instead of it going in the Hall of Presidents or something (who’d wanna visit THAT these days?), the entire show can live on in roller coaster form! Just throw the audio into Audacity, speed it up to fit in the 70 seconds the ride goes for, and then put it up on some screens or something! Instead of that pre-show video with Aerosmith, that can be the pre-show with Rizzo as Mickey and those worker dudes! While you’re at it, throw the Piggy fountain just randomly somewhere on the floor of the coaster and light it up. Why not, it’s not anywhere else right now!
You Can Call Me Al
Or have no Muppet song, and just have Paul Simon’s ‘You Can Call Me Al’ play instead. Not a cover. Nothing Muppet related at all. Just Paul Simon’s hit song.
