Singer/songwriter Alan O’Day passed away this week at the age of 72.  Best known for his #1 hit song “Undercover Angel“, O’Day also penned songs for folks like Cher, the Righteous Brothers, and Helen Reddy.  We remember him for having co-written almost 100 songs for Muppet Babies.

Among the songs he co-wrote with Janis Liebhart were “TV Maniacs”, “Snow White Blues”, “Amadogus”, “Semi-Weirdo”, “Wocka Wocka Wocka”, “Look a Little Bit Closer”, “Best Friends”, “Keep Your Cool”, “The Future is Counting on You”, “It’s Up to You” and many, many more. He also co-wrote the song “Elmo Didn’t Mean To” for the current season of Sesame Street
