With the Blu-ray release of The Muppet Movie looming, we’ve been wondering if it might be accompanied by a re-release of the movie’s soundtrack, so that a new generation of fans can practice matching Piggy’s high note from the end of “Never Before, Never Again” at the top of their lungs as they drive around. (Other Muppet fans do that… right?)
Then, just a few days ago, Muppet Movie co-composer Paul Williams was asked that very question on Twitter. His reply: “Yes. Fall 2013.” That’s all we know so far, but if anyone is a reliable source on the topic, it’s Mr. Williams. Stay tuned for more details as we get them!
By the way, Paul Williams has been getting a lot of attention lately for a collaboration with the band Daft Punk. You should check that out if you’re so inclined.
