As we announced last month, The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora was nominated for a Webby Award. And now we’re saddened to report that for the first time in the long history of the Webbys, the Muppets have failed to win in their nominated category.
Alongside such greats as 30 Rock and The Office in the “Comedy: Long Form or Series” category, perhaps the competition was just too much. It certainly wasn’t too much for the winner, “Web Therapy“, or the People’s Voice winner, “Funny or Die’s Presidential Reunion.”
The worst part of this news is that we’ll be denied another 5-word acceptance speech by the Muppets. (Previous speech-givers include Beaker and Animal… would The Swedish Chef have made it a Leprechaun Brothers hat trick?) The other worst part is that we’ve now set a precedent that it’s okay for the Muppets to not win every single award ever. What would the CAMPO guys say??
So if you’ll all join me, we’ll be holding a public protest/riot at City Hall. It’s really the only proper response. BYOP (Bring Your Own Pitchfork).
