“Being Elmo”, the documentary about the amazingly talented Kevin Clash, got a standing ovation at the Sundance Film Festival. It received the Special Jury Prize at Sundance. It has packed theaters at every screening around the country. But one thing it hasn’t done is come to your town (probably). Thanks to Submarine Entertainment, the film is now being set for release in theaters around the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and more.
The documentary should be in theaters later this year, with the hopes that it will be nominated for an Academy Award in 2012. The film is also being prepped for its DVD release, which should also be announced later this year. And PBS is already first in line to air the documentary on television.
So no matter where you live, you’ll be able to see Being Elmo soon enough. And maybe, just maybe, Elmo will take home that little golden statuette next year.
