I think we’re all in agreement that The Muppet Show is the best show. But have you ever wondered what the best of the best show might be? With your help, we’re going to find out.
As you may recall, last year we put out a call for entries to help us choose the top 70 greatest moments in Henson history. The top picks, as nominated by ToughPigs readers, were selected by The Jim Henson Legacy and included in a special screening at The Museum of the Moving Image. The whole thing was such a success, we’re going to do it again!
We’d like YOUR help to get things started by casting your votes for The 50 Greatest Muppet Show Moments. All you’ve got to do is think about your faves (hey, maybe even rewatch some episodes too!), and then fill out our poll to share up to 15 of your picks.
To make things a little simpler for the folks compiling, we ask that you share your favorite moments in this format: the EPISODE NUMBER (as found on the Muppet Wiki), GUEST STAR, and MOMENT in that order. For example, “520, Wally Boag, The Leprechaun Brothers”.
In addition to your top moments, we’re also trying to build a ranking of the top Muppet Show episodes! In that same Google Form, you’ll see a question asking you to vote for up to 10 of your favorites. I know, it’s hard to narrow it down, but I believe in you.
The top 50 Muppet Show moments will be revealed at a special screening at The Museum of the Moving Image during the Jim Henson’s birthday event in September. Participants who submit their nominations will get a shout-out in the credits. And who doesn’t love seeing their name up on the big screen??
The poll will close on August 10th, so you have a few weeks to narrow down your picks and submit your nominations. Please just one entry per person!
