As you may be aware, ToughPigs Dot Com – the website you are currently reading – will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next month. We’ve got some fun plans to celebrate, but it was a delightful surprise to find that someone else plans on celebrating on our behalf.
The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York has announced Henson Fan Appreciation Day: A Salute to Henson Fans (But Mostly ToughPigs)! The event promises to celebrate the most important aspect to the Muppets – their fans.
The event will feature a panel conversation with members of the ToughPigs team and the Muppet Wiki admins about the history of Muppet fandom and some of our biggest accomplishments over the past few decades. It will also include more than a few surprises, including a special screening of a rare mystery Muppet production. What could it be?? The only way to find out is to show up!
It’s important to note that this event isn’t just for die-hards. It really is a tribute to all Muppet fans, and that includes everyone from the casual fans to the fanatics. Whether you barely know Fozzie Bear or if your favorite Muppet is Banananose Maldonado – as long as you appreciate the Muppets, you’re welcome and encouraged to join us.
