The Muppetational May Challenge 2025

Last year, Muppet fans across the internet celebrated Muppetational May – a month-long celebration that we totally made up. For 31 days straight, we encouraged creative folks with a Muppet-related prompt per day, resulting in hundreds of incredible illustrations.

And we’re doing it again! Welcome to The Muppetational May Challenge: Artist Edition 2025!

Starting on May 1st, we’re encouraging you (yes, YOU!) to illustrate the Muppet or scene we’re providing for each day of the month. You’re welcome to get literal with it, or as creative as you want. In the immortal words of Cantus: There are no rules, and those are the rules.

While the original concept was to draw something, we found that some fans chose to take these prompts and get creative with them. So while there was a lot of artwork, we also saw fan fiction, poetry, and other homages to our favorite Muppets. (Seriously, y’all are incredible!)

There’s one new element in this year’s Muppetational May. As you may (pun intended) be aware, there’s a huge campaign happening on social media celebrating the Muppets’ 70th anniversary with a spotlight on a different Muppet every week. The Muppet of the Week is announced every Friday, so we’ve identified every Saturday as a “Draw the Muppet of the Week” day. Who will we be drawing on those days? It’s a mystery!
