Over the last couple years, Muppet fans have been gathering in New York City en masse to celebrate Jim Henson’s birthday. And with each year, the party gets bigger and bigger. With this year being Jim’s 90th birthday, it’s bound to be a blowout.
Just announced, Jim Henson’s 90th Birthday Celebration will be held from September 24-27. Yes, you read that right: four days!!! The party is going to be held at The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, and we’re letting you know as early as possible so you can save it on your calendar. And if you’re planning on coming from out of town, you can start looking at travel and accommodations.
Details about what those four days will include have yet to be revealed, but the event has promised screenings, special guests, puppetry workshops, the return of the Swamp Meet, live music, and more. As more details are revealed, they’ll be shared on the MoMI website.
Each year, ToughPigs has been proud to play a part in the events surrounding the birthday event. And this year is no different, as ToughPigs is an official collaborator along with The Jim Henson Legacy, The Green Feather Foundation, and The Museum of the Moving Image. We are in extremely good company.
