As reported by Mississippi’s Daily Journal, which in turn cites the Delta Democrat Times, Jim Henson’s hometown of Leland (also in Mississippi — which is fun to spell) will be changing the name of a local bridge to “The Rainbow Connection” to honor Jim’s memory. The dedication will take place on Jim’s birthday, September 24th, during a local arts festival.
It’s a lovely gesture, even though songs are usually know for containing bridges rather than having bridges named after them. Now here’s hoping they follow this up by naming the town’s movie theater “Hey, a Movie!”, naming a local greenhouse “Being Green,” etc.
