It’s a sad day in the puppetry community. We have learned that puppeteer Adam Kreutinger has passed away.

While ToughPigs usually doesn’t cover non-Muppet-related news, it still feels appropriate to honor Adam here. He was a friend and colleague to most of our team, and co-host of the Puppet Tears podcast, which featured over 80 episodes of interviews with Henson performers and crew. Puppet Tears boasts episodes with performers like Bill Barretta, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, Ryan Dillon, Louise Gold, Matt Vogel, Fran Brill, Dave Goelz, and more. They also included writers, puppet builders, and even the owners of ToughPigs.

In addition to his puppetry work, Adam was also a teacher, artist, and author, filling his life with the art of puppetry and sharing it with everyone he could. He also appeared as a contestant on season 25 of the reality show Worst Cooks in America.

Over the past few years, Adam fought a difficult battle against cancer. We were grateful that he was able to continue that fight for several years, which allowed him time to see the puppetry community rally alongside him for fundraisers, museum exhibits, and an overall celebration of his life and work.
