As various news outlets have reported, rock singer Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. As the lead singer of Black Sabbath and as a solo artist, Osbourne made a big impact on music — and with his wild public persona, he also made a huge impression on pop culture in general.

Osbourne was a larger-than-life character, so it’s not surprising that he crossed paths with the Muppets a few times. Muppet fans will vividly recall his appearance on the album Kermit Unpigged, in which he energetically sang “Born to Be Wild” while Miss Piggy screamed rapturously. He was also one of several celebrity cameos in the music video for “She Drives Me Crazy” from the Unpigged album.

I also just now learned from Muppet Wiki that Osbourne and his wife Sharon — who famously costarred with him on the reality series The Osbournes — appeared on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live alongside Fozzie and Rizzo in 2005. And he appeared in a pro-recycling music video called “Yakety Yak – Take It Back” that occasionally aired on Sesame Street in the ’90s.

And now, please join us… not in a moment of silence, but a moment of rocking the place down with Ozzy Osbourne and Miss Piggy:
