The Return of Jim Henson’s Monster Cereals

The highlight of last Halloween season was the collaboration between The Jim Henson Company and General Mills, resulting in puppetized versions of Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry. Not only did we get some beautiful Henson Workshop-built puppets, but it gave us a good reason to eat a whole lot of cereal. I’m not mad about it.

We’re pleased to learn that this ultimate team-up is getting a sequel this year! The Jim Henson Company’s versions of the Monster Cereals will be returning to grocery store shelves in celebration of the 55th anniversary of Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry.

If you’re the type to collect these sorts of things, you’ll also want to head to Wal-Mart to pick up the exclusive flocked version of the Count Chocula box. But just the box is fuzzy, and not the cereal inside. Yuccha.

To add to the puppetiness of the collaboration, the backs of the boxes will feature a design to cut out and turn into a puppet of your own. And look, if we’re not turning our cereal boxes into puppets, what are we even doing here?

The Henson Company Monster Cereals will be on sale very soon wherever you get your cereals.
